Gov. Jeff Landry and top leaders in President Donald Trump's administration unveiled Wednesday a new ICE detention center on the grounds of Angola State Penitentiary at Angola.

The building, once known as Camp J, was previously shuttered in 2018 amid safety concerns, but was swiftly renovated this year after Landry signed an emergency declaration allowing the state to skip regular bidding processes.
