SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield Public Works has provided updates on storm debris pickups.
Springfield Public Works says it has removed more than 22,407 cubic yards of storm debris from Springfield neighborhoods since debris pickup sweeps began on Aug. 11. With storm debris pickup mostly complete in Zone 1, Public Works is now focusing efforts on completing pickup in Zone 3, which was the second hardest hit during the April 29 windstorms.
Residents are reminded to make sure only organic debris is at the street side. • Only natural/organic vegetative debris will be collected (limbs, branches, brush). • No registration is needed for pickup. • Debris should be placed at the curb or nearest accessible location, without blocking sidewalks, driveways or drainage ditches. • Debris must b
