California couple Nathan Arreola, 28, and Christina Dains, 30, knew they needed to make some lifestyle changes. They were grabbing their meals from the food trucks near their home in Los Angeles and spending weekends on the couch. “You could see the imprints,” Dains tells TODAY.
They each had lists of health problems they didn’t think they should be facing in their 20s. For Dains, whose weight reached 170 pounds, that included knee pain , migraines, fatigue, asthma, anxiety and depression.
Arreola, whose weight climbed to 210 pounds, had migraines, dizziness, high blood pressure, prediabetes and acid reflux. “I would get prescribed medications, but I never took them because I was afraid they might cause other conditions,” he says.
