Winnipeg police have charged a 23-year-old man in connection with a violent shoplifting spree that targeted multiple city convenience stores this summer.
On Sept. 8 at 11:26 p.m., East District officers arrested the suspect near Henderson Highway and Trent Avenue after receiving reports of a knife-point robbery at a store in the 300 block of Henderson. He was taken into custody without incident, and a knife was seized at the scene.

The Major Crimes Unit linked him to 21 other incidents dating back to July, including thefts and armed robberies at stores across Sargent Avenue, Portage Avenue, Arlington Street, and Henderson Highway. In several cases, security guards and employees were threatened with knives, scissors, a crowbar, or even a hypodermic needle.
