Preliminary design strategies for the city of Greenville’s new “wheelsports park” were unveiled during a public meeting Sept. 9.

The new park will be constructed on an approximately 10-acre site at 425 Airport Road, adjacent to the Greenville Downtown Airport. It will include a concrete skatepark, an asphalt pump track and a paved bicycle playground.

A multiphase design process is underway to plan the wheelsports park. Early ideas for the park were first collected from the community at a meeting held in July. The project’s design team used the community’s feedback to develop three preliminary design concepts.
