ATHENS, Ga. (WSAV) -- Stressed out? Buying flowers may be the way to boost your mood.

Researchers at the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (UGA CAES) looked into how horticulture and agricultural economics play into not just what flowers people buy, but why they buy them, how often and what those habits say about overall health and well-being.

Their study of more than 8,500 people found that people who bought flowers were more likely to feel better at home and at work. They reported their moods improved, they felt less stressed and even said their overall morale was better.
