HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — Several local men were indicted in House of Prayer Christian Churches of America (HOPCC) investigation called "False Profit," officials announced Thursday.

Eight people in total were arrested, with seven of them having ties to Hinesville, Ga. The church is headquartered in Hinesville on 2540 Airport Road, with other locations outside of military bases in Georgia, Washington, Texas, North Carolina and California.

According to the indictment, the church's leader used the name “Rony Denis," an identity he allegedly stole in 1983, to become a U.S. citizen in 2002. He then went on to establish HOPCC and its affiliate House of Prayer Bible Seminary (HOPBS), the DOJ said.
