FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two local nonprofits are teaming up to improve access to harm reduction resources in Northwest Arkansas.
The Arkansas Justice Reform Coalition (AJRC) and Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction (NWAHR) announced a partnership on Sept. 10 aimed at providing materials like naloxone to the community.
A naloxone distribution box is now available outside AJRC’s office at 205 N. College in Fayetteville. The box, accessible 24/7, contains naloxone, usage instructions, fentanyl testing strips and information about NWAHR.
The initiative, sponsored by CareSource through SOAR WV, aims to place at least one naloxone distribution box in every state by Sept. 25 for “Save A Life Day," according to a news release.
Community members are encouraged to take one for personal use
