Four people were arrested Sunday after agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit, North Alabama Drug Task Force, and Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force - Region F, conducted a narcotics operation at a hotel near Beltline Road and 6th Avenue in Decatur.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, the operation was a weeks-long investigation that dismantled a multi-level drug trafficking organization with direct ties to Mexico, Atlanta, and other states within the United States.

Agents identified several local individuals working on behalf of the organization to smuggle and distribute narcotics across North Alabama.
