WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A man arrested in July on a child grooming charge is back in the McLennan County Jail after police say he violated the conditions of bond by repeatedly contacting the alleged victim and her mother.
Lacy Lakeview police arrested Charles Lajuan Evans, 42, Wednesday on repeated violation of conditions of bond in a child abuse case, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Evans was arrested July 2 on allegations he sent money via PayPal in exchange for photos of a “sexual nature” of a young female family member.
Evans tried to excuse his actions at the time by telling a detective the girl was 17, the legal age of consent in Texas, according to arrest documents.
