Alabama State football was leading at half by 28 points. Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body and the passing game was providing most of the spark on the field, but during halftime it was the Mighty Marching Hornets band of Alabama State that stole the show.

Alabama State's Mighty Marching Hornets continued the domination of Miles College, defeating the Purple Marching Machine in the battle of the bands during the halftime show.

At least that's how the Montgomery Advertiser saw it.
