Wednesday begins with showers and thunderstorms across KAKEland, the most widespread in North Central and Southwest Kansas. Rain will gradually move north and east, which means Wichita and much of South Central Kansas may see little to no morning rain.

If south Central Kansas stays dry and quiet throug the morning, the atmosphere could "reload" setting the stage for another round of afternoon storms, some of which may be severe.
