ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision in Orangeburg County on Wednesday.

The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. on S.C. Highway 6 at Peach Orchard Street near Vance.

Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover said a 2014 Kia Soul was traveling east on SC-6 when it drove off the left side of the road, hitting a mailbox and then a tree.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died from the injuries on the scene.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
