COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-car crash that occurred in Lexington County on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened on US-321 about one mile south of the town of Pine Ridge.
Troopers said the collision occurred when a 2020 Nissan Rogue traveling south on US-321 was hit by a Mercedes sedan at the intersection of the highway and Gardner’s Terrace Road.
The Nissan then traveled off the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and crashed into a utility pole.
According to SCHP, the driver of the Nissan was the only person in the vehicle and died on scene as a result of their injuries. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
