Scottish gangsters who have allegedly been detained by authorities in Dubai could face 'up to two years in prison' as they await extradition.

Ross McGill, 31, Steven Lyons, 44, and Stephen 'Jimmy' Jamieson, 42, are among the five men who are understood to have been arrested on Tuesday morning. This comes as forces crackdown on organised crime in the United Arab Emirates, reports the Scottish Daily Express .

The group are suspected of being involved in serious crime, though no official word on their arrests has come from British authorities yet. According to Dubai Extradition Lawyers, crimes must meet specific criteria before an individual can be removed from the UAE.
