A 63-year-old murderer chillingly maintained his innocence in his final words before being put to death.
David Joseph Pittman had been on death row since 1991.
He was put to death by lethal injection just after 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday at the Florida State Prison near Starke under a death warrant signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
