Anne Hegerty, one of the famed Chasers from the hit ITV gameshow The Chase, shared a social media post that's triggered a backlash in the comments.

She shared her thoughts on Charlie Kirk, the conservative commentator who was tragically killed at a debate at Utah Valley University.

Anne wrote: "I had never heard of Charlie Kirk before Wednesday night. Had we met, my end of the conversation would have been: 'You just said WHAT?' and 'Scuse me, those are my FRIENDS you're talking about.

"I join Bernie Sanders in deploring his murder."

The reaction to her post was swift, with one user writing: "Anne look at his debates before making assumptions - Ps your head is big."

She replied: "I know, it always has been. In the jungle I had the second largest hat size."
