Meharry Medical College has appointed Dr. Leslie Appiah as chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and executive director of the Center for Women’s Health Research.

Appiah is a pediatric and adolescent gynecologist and nationally recognized leader in oncofertility and reproductive preservation. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, delivered over 100 invited lectures, and served as associate editor for the Contraception and Reproductive Medicine journal.

She joins Meharry from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado.
