BOARDMAN - Dozens gathered at Boardman Park on Sunday for the 'Walk for Life' event to spread awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.

Guests could participate in the 1 mile or half-mile 'Celebrate Life Walk' or run.

Live music and resource booths accompanied the event for guests to learn more about mental health and veteran services.

Tri-State Marine Corps League Junior Vice Commandant Michael Morgenstern says the everyday hardships of what military members and veterans face has a significant impact on their mental health. He says awareness on the topic should be more widespread for everyone, including the military community.
