First week of fall welcomes beneficial rain

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -After Sunday’s storms, very dense fog has become widespread this morning.

MONDAY: The first day of fall! It will not feel like fall though as temperatures peak in the low-mid 80s by the afternoon hours. We will start the morning off dry with a mixture of sun and clouds, but by the late afternoon hours, a few scattered downpours will be possible. Some of these storms could be strong at times, especially over the Cumberland Plateau, with gusty winds and heavy rain.

TUESDAY: Another “summer-like” day with high temperatures in the middles and afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms.

LOOKING AHEAD: Each day this week brings a chance for much needed rainfall here at home, primarily in the late afternoon to early evening hours. Temperatures will cool into t
