EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville Police say they arrested a man on drug charges after a traffic stop Monday.

Around 4:45 p.m., police said they stopped 31-year-old Taylor Perry for disregarding a stop sign.

EPD says Perry was extremely nervous, sweating profusely and shaking.

In Perry's truck, police say they found a metal pipe and a piece of foil with fentanyl in it.

Police said numerous syringes were also seen in the back seat of the truck, which Perry claimed was for his diabetes.

Despite Perry's claim, police said he had no insulin with him, and that the jail had no record of him being diabetic, even though he has been booked frequently.

EPD says Perry later admitted to using the syringes to inject heroin and fentanyl.
