ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Altoona Curve’s pitching staff added a new milestone this season as reliever Wilkin Ramos earned a spot on the Eastern League All-Star team.
Ramos, 24, is the first Curve player to receive the honor since 2021 and the first pitcher since 2014. His recognition comes after a dominant season out of the bullpen, where he made 35 appearances with a 1.45 ERA and held opponents to a .161 batting average.
Ramos converted all seven of his save opportunities before being promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Aug. 12. Over 49.2 innings with Altoona, he allowed just eight earned runs and struck out 53 batters. His season opened with 13.1 scoreless innings and included a stretch from June to August where he posted a 1.03 ERA across 20 outings.
