PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) - The Steelers' defense has been reeling in the war of attrition early this season. Pittsburgh already had to adjust for the injuries to starters such as Derrick Harmon, Alex Highsmith, Joey Porter Jr. and DeShon Elliott.
While Harmon shined in his NFL debut on Sunday against New England, the other three previously didn't suit up. Ahead of the Steelers' game in Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings, head coach Mike Tomlin has already ruled out Highsmith, who is still dealing with a high ankle sprain that he suffered back in Week 2.
Highsmith missed a chunk of training camp this year with a groin injury and didn't suit up in seven games last season. Nick Herbig and rookie Jack Sawyer have stepped up in his absence.
