ROY — Police officers were searching for a black SUV they say hit a woman in the front yard of a home and then fled the scene on Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Josh Taylor with the Roy Police Department said the vehicle went over a curb, struck the 51-year-old woman and then hit a fence in the area of 4800 South and 2950 East in Roy.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. Her injuries were not immediately known, but Taylor said she didn’t appear to be seriously hurt.

The driver reportedly left the scene of the accident.

The Roy Police Department later posted photos of the vehicle believed to be involved in the collision:
