SAN DIEGO — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in the San Diego Field Office intercepted nearly 10,000 pounds of narcotics with an estimated street value of $24 million during the month of August, according to a monthly recap released Thursday. The agency reported 155 total seizures, which also included over $340,000 in unreported currency.
The significant drug interdictions demonstrate CBP's ongoing efforts to combat transnational criminal organizations attempting to smuggle contraband through Southern California's ports of entry.
