A longtime Jasper policeman is turning in his badge and going to the house following almost 30 years of dedication to the City of Jasper and the people who live here.
Gerald Hudson had been talking about it for several month, but no one believed he would actually do it. However, Hudson turned in his notice a. few weeks ago, saying he had enjoyed it but it was time to take it easy.
Hudson, who is a native on Kountze and a graduate of Kountze High School, began his career with the Jasper Police Department in 1995 serving as a rookie patrol officer.
Hudson was later moved to the narcotics group, of the city where he worked for several years, before moving back to patrol and serving as a Lieutenant. However, a few years later he moved to the department’s Criminal Investigation Division wher
