A 21-year-old Eugene man accused of robbing and shooting a 35-year-old man near 30th Avenue and Spring Boulevard in Eugene on Sept. 3 has been arraigned.

Zachery Padgett was arrested Sept. 18 and later arraigned in a Lane County Circuit Court on assault charges for allegedly robbing the victim of his backpack and shooting him before fleeing into a wooded area. It was not immediately clear what type of injuries the man sustained. He was able to get to a nearby roadway for help and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident led to an early morning lockout at Lane Community College and a delayed start for students at Camas Ridge Elementary School while police officials conducted an investigation and manhunt in the area.

On Sept. 22, Padgett was arraigned on one count
