CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland is planning to once again close part of its Memorial Shoreway to repair the water main break.
A city spokesperson said the eastbound lanes will be fully closed at West 45th Street starting around 10 a.m. Friday, after rush hour traffic.
If all goes well, the roadway will be reopened before the Monday morning commute.
This does not impact the Memorial Shoreway’s westbound lanes.
The break on a 36″ water main has prompted traffic trouble for nearly a month, since Aug. 28.
The city carried out a similar closure from Sept. 12 to 15.
The water department had said repairing the water main is a complex process due to the age of the main and the main’s proximity to the Garrett Morgan Treatment Plant, a water tower, and various other water mains.
