WINDHAM, Maine — Main Street between River Road and Newhall Road has reopened after it was shut down due to a water main break .
The road was reduced to one lane Friday morning for Portland Water District crews to make repairs.
Motorists were advised to use alternate routes amid possible traffic delays, the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center told NEWS CENTER Maine.
Around 10:30 a.m. Friday, officials said the stretch of road could be down to one lane for seven to eight hours. According to an update shortly before 4:30 p.m., the road had reopened.
