INVEST 94-L NEAR THE CARIBBEAN AND BAHAMAS:

A tropical wave producing widespread showers, storms and gusty winds is impacting Hispaniola and the Turks and Caicos Islands. An area of low pressure is expected to form along the wave tonight as it moves into the southeast Bahamas. Advertisement

The disturbance is forecast to strengthen, with a tropical depression likely to form in the central or northwest Bahamas within the next couple of days. Regardless of development, heavy rain and gusty winds will continue across portions of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas.

The southeastern U.S. coast should be monitoring closely as this could affect them early to mid next week.
