XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) -- The Greene County Courthouse was home to a bevy of people joining together Thursday night to remember lives lost to violence.

The annual event was an emotional one for the many in attendance. Organizers highlighted the purpose behind it.

"It's important for us to recognize the grief and loss and the pain that they still share," said Magistrate Wayne Waite.

The moment offered a chance of reflection amongst a group of people going through similar circumstances.

"My brother was somebody who would do anything for you," said Adara Tarrent, who was at the event with her family.

His name is one of numerous on pavers lining the memorial garden outside of the courthouse.
