A person has tragically died following an incident at a takeaway shop.

The incident is believed to have involved carbon monoxide and seven others, including emergency staff, were treated at the scene for the effects of inhaling the gas.

Police were called to the scene on Cresswell Crescent in Bloxwich at around 9.40pm on Friday, September 26, following concerns for a man's welfare.

When they arrived, they found a man in his 50s who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A number of people were then taken to hospital following exposure to the suspected carbon monoxide.
