CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Something I hear quite often is, Healthy eating is expensive? Think again! I want to show you some of my favorite budget-friendly grocery finds—all under $5, that are nutritious and can help you create well-balanced meals or snacks.

First up in the produce department, my picks are sweet potatoes, bananas, and frozen broccoli.

Sweet potatoes are high in fiber and vitamin A and can be cooked in the oven, microwave, air fryer, stove, etc. I like these as a side, but I also love them topped with some chicken, cheese, and buffalo sauce for a main dish.

Bananas don’t need much. These are great if you have athletes in your house, an easy snack, or an addition to a breakfast smoothie.
