Multiple people have been shot at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan on Sunday morning, according to police.
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department said the shooter is down and there is no active threat to the public.
Police have not specified the condition of the victims.
The church on McCandlish Road is currently on fire and people are asked to avoid the area.
A reunification place for people off-site is the Trillium Theater.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer expressed condolences in a post to X and said, “violence anywhere, especially in a place of worship, is unacceptable.”
Grand Blanc is a suburb of Flint, about 100 kilometres northwest of Detroit.
