CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The House Judiciary Subcommittee is holding a violent crime hearing in Charlotte on Monday morning.

The field hearing, titled “Victims of Violent Crime,” is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, in Uptown.

The conference is expected to discuss political responses that followed the brutal murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska. She was stabbed to death on a Charlotte light rail one month ago.

“Today’s hearing is an opportunity for members of Congress to learn more about the effects of Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies and the devastating consequences they impose on our communities, families, and law enforcement,” said North Carolina GOP chairman Jason Simmons.
