MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced that applications are now open for two grant funds totaling $175 million to enhance public safety across the state.
The two funding grants include a $75 million Violent Crime Intervention Fund and a $100 million Downtown Public Safety Grant Fund, which will support the Memphis Safe Task Force now in operation in Memphis.
Both grant funds were included in the Governor's fiscal year budget proposal and have been approved by the Tennessee General Assembly.
The office said eligible agencies will receive a letter with instructions no later than Friday and may apply for grant funding through October 24, 2025.
They stated that select local jurisdictions and law enforcement agencies are eligible for these funds based on specific criteria
