OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The Blue Bridge isn’t the only thing lighting up Owensboro this weekend.

Illuminate, an art and light experience on Owensboro’s riverfront, runs all weekend, with all displays coming to life at 6:30 p.m. each night and wrapping up at 10:00 p.m.

“This is a new event, an art and light experience, something fun for the community to come and enjoy, and we’re so excited to be able to host it here on our beautiful riverfront,” says Shaelie Velez, Communications & Marketing Manager.

Community members say they were excited to come and see what Illuminate is all about.

“It’s the first time the event’s ever happened here,” says Rick Tweddeel and Tonya Ford. “We’re just very curious and excited to see all of the exhibits and displays and the drone show and maybe get a bite
