Free car ferry to ease Lansing bridge closure on Mississippi River

LANSING, Iowa — The Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation have announced the closure of the Iowa 9/WIS 82 Mississippi River bridge, also known as the Black Hawk Bridge, on October 20. This closure marks the beginning of a new phase in the construction of a replacement bridge , with completion expected in spring 2027.
