GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A $1.5 million grant is being awarded to Santa Fe College for rural job training programs.
The money is part of a larger $40 million package from the Florida Department of Education.
Santa Fe College officials say their portion of the money will help expand engineering technology training in rural Alachua and Bradford counties.
College officials say they’ll use the funds for a manufacturing jobs certificate program.
Training will be provided in mobile classrooms and labs.
