A pedestrian has serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Waterbury on Friday night, according to police.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of South Main Street around 10 p.m. for a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Authorities said the 49-year-old pedestrian was transported to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
