EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A 39-year-old Fabens man has been arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home and then trying to flee from deputies, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

At about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, deputies were sent out to the 300 block of NW Fassett in Fabens about a burglary of a home in progress.

Upon arrival, deputies saw a male suspect matching the description provided by the reporting party fleeing on foot. A brief pursuit ensued, and the suspect was apprehended in the 700 block of Mesa Ridge, the Sheriff's Office said.

The individual was identified as 39-year-old Jose “Payaso” Rodriguez of Fabens. Further investigation revealed Rodriguez had an active warrant for parole violation. He was also charged with evading arrest or detention with previous convi
