A fourth person believed to have been staying at a Queensland home that burst into flames and killed three people is set to be questioned by police.

Jordana Johnson, aged 36, died in the Gladstone fire on Wednesday morning along with her son Jordan Norris, 12, and his friend Chazz Mather, also 12.

A crime scene was set up at the scene of the blaze on Whiting Street, Toolooa, and a second crime scene was also established at a nearby property on Trevally Street.

It has since been revealed in the wake of the tragedy that a woman known to those who died is believed to have had escaped the fire and was later hospitalised.

A fourth person who had been staying at the house that ignited was spotted outside shortly after the fire started, The Courier Mail understands.
