CANFIELD, Ohio — Plans have been announced for a Celebration of Life service honoring Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton, who was killed in the line of duty last week.

According to Arbaugh Pearce Greenisen Funeral Home , services will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Youngstown State University's Beeghly Center. Doors will open at noon for seating, with the service scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to follow designated parking and seating instructions.

Cayton, 40, was killed on Thursday, Oct. 16 after his cruiser was struck while he was assisting a disabled semi-truck on Route 11 in Mahoning County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
