A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on a ramp onto I-94 near downtown Minneapolis early Sunday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash was reported at around 1 a.m., when a motorcyclist "traveling a very high rate of speed crashed while on the 3rd Street ramp from downtown Minneapolis to westbound Interstate 94."

The motorcyclist was "later" dead from injuries he sustained in the crash.

His identity has not yet been released, but the state patrol says he is a 21-year-old man from Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.
