DUBLIN, Ga. — Dublin City Schools approved the second phase of its deficit reduction plan Tuesday, cutting 46 positions and eliminating 10 school days as the district grapples with a $13 million budget shortfall and more than $6 million owed to the state health benefits plan.

The latest round of cuts totals approximately $3 million and includes reducing work days for some administrators, according to a press release from the district. The release says school board members will also waive their own salaries through June 2027.

"It just gets worse and worse," said John Hall, who lives in the Laurens County area.
