Five people have been displaced from an early morning structure fire in Blyn on Oct. 23.
Clallam County Fire District 3 reports that residents on the 27000 block of U.S. Highway 101 were awakened by smoke alarms and were able to safely evacuate the building at 12:56 a.m.
Battalion Chief Chris Turner said the first crew from station 37 arrived within 10 minutes to begin an exterior attack on the fire, but first had difficulty finding the home as the address marker had previously been knocked down.
Firefighters report that the fire was in the ceiling and “crawling down the wall” of the two-story residence.
Units from Sequim station 34 assisted with extinguishing the fire and searching the building.
Blyn station 33 also arrived and was sent to the roof to begin ventilation operations wit
