WASHINGTON — The Washington National Cathedral will host the funeral service for Dr. Jane Goodall, the ethologist and conservationist.

Her service will be held on Nov. 12, and officiated by Episcopal Archbishop The Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde and Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith. Tributes are expected to be offered by family members. Other speakers will be announced at a later date.

The British primatologist, best known for her work with chimpanzees, died on Oct. 1 at 91 years old while traveling on a speaking tour in the United States. Dr. Goodall's observation of tool-use in non-human animals is known as the moment that "redefined humankind."
