Unions are open to talks that could soften the impact of Labour’s “day one” workers’ rights amid warnings that they could harm the economy, a senior source has said.
Leaders had previously warned ministers against watering down their promises, including a new rule that a ban on unfair dismissal take effect from the moment someone takes up a new job.
