The Wild's frustrating start to the 2025 season continued on Sunday evening in St Paul. They rallied from multiple deficits to force overtime against the San Jose Sharks, but ultimately fell 6-5 for a sixth defeat in their last seven games.
After Joel Eriksson Ek's deflection tied the game at five with just over two minutes left in regulation, the Wild possessed the puck for almost all of the first three-plus minutes of OT. But Brock Faber's shot was saved and bounced out to 19-year-old Sharks star Macklin Celebrini, who raced to the other end and scored the game-winner against Wild goalie Jesper Wallstedt.
The Wild did earn one point in the standings, but they're now 1-4-2 in their last seven and just 3-5-2 on the season, which puts them near the bottom of the Western Conference standin
