BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Daylight saving time is coming to an end this week, leaving us with earlier sunrises and sunsets for the winter.
The time to change your clocks is here! At 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, local time, we will "fall back" one hour. This happens every year on the first Sunday in November, and it is used to add more sunlight in the mornings during winter.
History of daylight saving time
The first person on record to observe this practice was Benjamin Franklin in the 18th century. He noted that if he woke up closer to sunrise, then he would have more time for his house to be illuminated.
